IDEAL Estimating System

Description

The U.S. Navy uses IDEAL to simply develop Cost-To-Complete cost models and export them, with IDEAL's XML output, to other systems. These cost models were built using the Parametric Cost Modeling Manual and Parametric Modeling Standards (in the ASTM submittal process). The U.S. Coast Guard is currently using IDEAL to manage estimates at a summary level for future remediation projects, limited in project scope and detail information.

NASA has fully integrated the use of IDEAL to manage liability budget estimates across all of their sites and centers for each RPM. NASA makes use of IDEAL's tools to manage their estimates, including the paper-clipping of important documents to each estimate and central libraries to share and submit budget estimates to NASA HQ.
